Mom loved browsing without ads so much during a recent visit she asked me to make a Pi-Hole server for their network. I still can’t believe how much faster browsing is. Great time to grab a Raspberry Pi Zero during Adafruit’s sale.

What happens when you hit a site like Forbes, which usually tells me to disable my adblocker before I can read the article?

I don’t recall what it looked like, but I just visited and clicked around to a few articles and don’t see any mentions about an adblocker. I haven’t seen any on sites I frequently visit either and used to get those warnings pretty often.
Since the ads are being blocked at the DNS level, their scripts basically think the domain is down and let you be on your way.
