After airline passengers wouldn’t stop complaining about the time they spent at baggage claim (even when more staff were added and wait times fell) a Houston airport simply moved the arrival gates so that passengers spent more of their “wait” time walking to the baggage claim. The complaints all but disappeared.

I think the Minneapolis airport borrowed the idea. Always a good workout when I connect through there.

Landing in Philadelphia from an international flight, seems like you end up walking 5-6 miles of walkways before you get out into the domestic terminal. Good to stretch legs after a long flight, but if it’s your final destination your bags are probably ready for you by that time. Heh.
