I’ve started the search for a place to live. It sucks…looking through the paper or MLive, calling people, asking questions, scheduling times to take a look at the place. What a pain in the ass!
I’ve decided on getting a 2 bedroom duplex. That would give me the option of having someone move in with me in a few months. It will also most likely get me a garage and a place for the washer and dryer, which will be nice to have. Living by myself is really going to cut into my funds though. Heather and Katie will be leaving at the end of April so I have a month and a half, but it’s getting stressful already and I’ve only been looking for 2 days.
I was thinking about trying to get a place with a shorter lease (like 3 or 6 months), but decided that would be next to impossible. If I end up getting a new job somewhere I can always get a sub-leasor.

i know what you are going through because i had to do all that a during the fall when i decided to move. i had to find a sub-leasor which was a pain in the ass because i had a person back out, then i had someone sign the lease and then want to get off and when i finally found someone he is a terrible roomy for my old roommate. i hope you have better luck…but try not to stress about it. at least you are looking ahead instead of waiting til the last minute.
