Doing Great

Things are going great in Nick-land lately. The wisdom teeth extraction couldn’t have turned out any better. I haven’t really had any pain and my recovery was quick and easy. I’m still pretty limited in what I can eat, so that sucks. Oatmeal, smoothies, ice cream, and soup have been on the menu for almost a week now. I’ve had a few other things but it’s mainly been foods that don’t need to be chewed; right down the hatch. You don’t realize how important and satisfying a little chewing is to eating. When you’re simply swallowing your food you don’t have a chance to taste it. Maybe by the weekend I’ll be able to try something normal. Or at least I hope so. I could go for a burger and some fries!

The Abs Diet Get Fit Stay Fit Plan : The Exercise Program to Flatten Your Belly, Reshape Your Body, and Give You Abs for Life! There are only two weeks left for me to get to 180 and reach my goal. I’m breaking 190 on a consistent basis in the past week, but I still have a long road to lose that other 10 pounds. I implemented some new strength workouts into my routine last week and I’m confident I can push myself to the limits for the rest of the month. I actually purchased The Abs Diet last week and the book taught me a lot about how the body handles foods and deals with exercise. I’d recommend the book for anyone interested in losing weight the right way.

I’ve been on a workout program for 6 weeks now and I haven’t felt this good in a long time. I’m eating better, losing weight, and I have more energy. The first week or two is a little tough, but once you get yourself into a routine it becomes a life change you won’t regret. I’m past that hump and love all the changes I’ve made. For the first time in my life I look forward to working out and I’m enjoying fruits, vegetables, and other healthy foods.

There’s also something very exciting in the works that I can’t talk about until it’s finalized. I just thought I’d plant a little seed in the mind of the three of you out there still reading my blog. Maybe in a few weeks or a month I can let the secret out.

Grinding

Once again I’ve gone back to grinding the low limit games at Party. A couple of times in the last week I’ve hit up the $1/2 tables, running 8 at a time. Gotta love the dual monitor setup! This is my favorite way to whip through one of their bonuses, but it also helps to get my game back into focus. I have fun playing like this and it’s not very difficult to keep up with all 8 tables as long as they’re all 10 seat tables.

January and February weren’t good poker months for the bankroll and I was losing interest in the game. That always seems to happen when I move up limits. I get a case of FPS (Fancy Play Syndrome) and I lose my mind. At least I know I’ll never have what it takes to be a poker pro, which is a good thing.

Take My Wisdom, Set Me Free

Tomorrow morning at 8 am I’m going in to get 3 of my wisdom teeth extracted/pulled/yanked/drilled/uprooted. It’s not something I’m exactly looking forward to given the history of my teeth and gums, but I’ve needed it done for a few years now. They’re in the way, but also out of the way because I can’t get get much of a toothbrush on them.

They’re “letting” me keep the lower right one where it is. I guess I use it. My lower jaw is larger than my upper (underbite) so I do have more room down there and this is actually the one one of the four that I can get a good cleaning on.

Hopefully I’ll be feeling good in a day or two, but if my dental history is any indication, this will not be the case. I talked my Mom into making a trip down to drive me to/from the office and take care of me for a day or so. She already had plans to make egg drop soup and chicken soup. I love my Mom!

Thinking About a Myrtle Beach Vacation

I’m thinking about a vacation to Myrtle Beach in the next month or two. Michigan weather is getting to me and I’m getting the golf itch. I’m interested in hearing from some people who have made a trip there in the last year or two. Where did you get your package through? What are the best places for your money? What should I look for? Thanks in advance!

Tiger Wins Over 25% of His PGA Events

With this weekends win at the Doral Ford Championship Tiger Woods now has 48 career PGA Tour victories in what is his 10th year on the tour. Over this time he’s entered a total of 189 tournaments which equates to a win percentage of 25.39%. That’s quite an amazing stat if you ask me. It’s unthinkable to imagine someone beating the best golfers in the world on such a consistent basis in today’s age of golf technology. Tiger is truly a freak of nature and one hell of a golfer.

Who Needs Sleep?

I do. I’ve had problems sleeping for years and finally decided to do something about it. I visited a Doctor last week and was sent to a sleep clinic. They put sensors all over my body and monitored me for a night. It was something different to say the least.

My results didn’t show any major problems like sleep apnea or restless leg syndrome, so that’s good. I guess. It’s tough not knowing the exact reason why I have trouble sleeping. According to the sleep study my sleep efficiency is only 67%, which means for the total time I spend in bed, I’m only sleeping 2/3 of the time. When I do fall asleep my sleep stage distribution is “grossly normal” according to the report. I basically have a hard time getting to sleep and then I wake up several times throughout the night for extended periods of time.

X-Out Golf Balls

Ever wonder exactly what an X-Out golf ball is? Why are they sold so cheap?

X-Outs are name-brand golf balls on which that brand has been stamped out, usually with a row of X’s, because of imperfections in the ball. Those imperfections are often cosmetic in nature, and usually so small as not to be noticeable. The balls usually play the same as their counterparts, or at least close enough that most recreational players could never tell the difference.
