We do the same, but usually redeem the travel reimbursement. Do you know how much of a hit you take on Amazon Gift Cards instead?

Have never looked at the travel rewards since most of my trips are for business. Just checked and travel gets reimbursed at the same rate as gift cards (100 points = $1), which is double the rate for account credits and cash-money checks.

Now that I have some credit history in the US, I was recently comparing credit card options. I found http://www.plasticiq.com/ and http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/magazine/2012/11/the-best-credit-card-for-you/index.htm to be two of the more useful resources.
