What makes a good About page on a personal web site and blog?

Not being written in the third person for a start. “Mark loves Red Bull and enjoys…” is just annoying, sounds like a PA wrote it.

I’ll add something – make it positive, careful on other things. My blog About page and the Automattic ‘About Us” were edited down because others read it and used that information to attack me in comments/email (the penalty of having to enforce rules). After the 3rd email I got fed up so changed them to what they are now. So it’s not always good to say too much.
