    • I was a little too excited and didn’t notice that the setting was for a hardware keyboard only. Does not have a Dvorak option for the software keyboard.

  1. This is so lame. Why doesn’t the SDK allow devs to create an alternate keyboard? There is no reason we should have to wait for Apple to get off its ass on something so bloody simple.

  2. I have to agree. As a programmer this won’t be hard. The iPad already has a complex multi-touch display that can accurately detect “button pushes” making it monumentally simple to program apps with buttons and keys. Creating an image file of the Dvorak layout and mapping the keys to the input would be amazingly simple especially since the iPad and iPhone already support alternate keyboards. So my message to Apple: You WILL A) Allow Dvorak as a configuration option or B) Give us the ability to do it ourselves. If you do not you WILL lose business; it’s that simple.
