I wouldn’t expect something like this from eBay, but their checkbox doesn’t work worth a shit. I’m prompted to enter my username and password at both eBay and Half more times than I care to count.
Is there a chance that all of us use Firefox? I’ve noticed that some sites won’t remember logins under Firefox. No doubt this is an issue with the web design, not with firefox, but I thought I would ask.
I definitely use FF, but it’s the same with IE. It’s just a cookie, so browser shouldn’t mater. I remember reading somewhere that the cookies only keeps you logged in for 24 hours…or at least it’s supposed to. Kind of defeats the purpose if you ask me.
Recently started have problems with signing on to ebay securely. It I.E. or ebay would not remember my password from one session to the next. Even though I didn’t sign out. Well, according to a fair amount of other web sites they mention on removing your “index.dat” file. Well, on one of those “index.dat” file I had to log on as a admin, or someone else who has admin priv using XP & I.E. 6.0…. & delete the “index.dat” file. Well, that didn’t help. Fianlly I went to my favorites & deleted the icon for the sign on page for ebay. I then went to the sign on paged, signed on & saved the page. After that, when I signed on it remembers my password for the next 24 hours. What a relief. Only do this on your computer or you may have problems with people accessing your ebay account on a library or school computer. Enjoy, hope this helps you & possibly those ebay sellers.
yes this is a problem, having to constantly sign all the time. I never had the problem until i got the new internet explorer 8. will revert to the old number 7 and give firefox a try. thanks for the suggestions.
Grrrr! So this will be the THIRD time I will go BACK to IE 7 because of problems. I signed in about 5 times in a half hour of shopping on eBay. Very irritating.
So, back to good ol’ dependable IE 7!
Holy crap, I thought it was just me… How can they let this go so long unfixed???

If you read in their FAQ or somewhere, it says that it keeps you signed in as long as your browser window is open for security reasons.
