  2. i have been playing online poker for three years

i have lost probably over $20,000

    i have never cashed out.

at my local casino in our sit n go’s i have a pretty good record and also in our cash games i win 40%

of the time. which would leave me in the green since when i win it’s usualy 10x my usual buy in

most of my winnings go into my online account’s

and in to the owners pockets.

    it’s soooo rigged

why doesn’t someone come out with a more realistic

    software and raise the rake.

who ever does this will will monopolize the market

they will surely get my business

  3. Online poker..what a scam. Impossible to prove beyond a reasonable doubt so they get away with it. If you know basic poker probabilities, you will notice how improbable the cards are. You will notice patterns, like going into “lose mode” after winning a certain amount or withdrawing $$ over and over again. They set up the software to pay out so much, get you

hooked and then steal as much money as they can get away with. Each site has their cheerleaders spread out saying how it’s not rigged, and ridicule you when you question it. Ever notice how not many players respond to chat nowadays, or respond minutes later? bots perhaps. Ever notice the amazing amount of suckouts(per # of hands dealt) that occur? Some will say, “It’s simply because

online poker players play looser and more hands are dealt. Yes more hands are dealt, but the amount of suckouts that occur are astronomically greater than probability. This site is great. Exposes the truth. They are thieves. It’s business. They make a ton more money rigging the cards and get away with it easily. Stop wasting money and time. Doesn’t matter how good a player you are. You will lose over the long run.

I have been playing pokerstars for the last 6 mos. steadily every night for 4 to5 hours.it seems that i can win the 10 cent tournys at least 2 of 10 and even final table 1.00 buyins BUT when entered in a 2.20 or higher with a ton of people using the same strategies that ive used for 25 years and the dime buy ins you dont have achance and convinces me that somethings wrong.

  5. I personally think that all this online poker is bs altogether. Im sure it isnt rigged but the computer they have is set up to deal certain hands to certain players as computers lack the task of random assignment. No computer can ever randomly play cards, so the hands are already set up before you start playing. It just depends on where you are sitting on the table, so it is practically complete gambling as the seat you sit in may be a winner or a loser. Ive been beat at least 8 times in the past week by a guy who ran 4 suited cards in a row to hit the flush. There is no possible way you would see that in a real poker room with real cards. Online just makes the hands more interesting so that more money is put into the pot, therefore a greater rake for the house. The casinos will always end up winning no matter what…

  6. I find it quite interesting that poker sites claim to have 100% fair play on their sites and how far from the truth they are. I have been an oline player for the last 5 years and I have had my fair share of winnings on some of the sites in the beggining of my poker carreer. As I have gotten deeper in to the game skillfully and financialy I have noticed that things have only turned out for the worse.Firstly, the card generation on these sites is totaly absurd, especially when I start receiving J 3 off suit 3 times in a row or 7 2 off suite 3 times in a row on a daily basis but how come we never get to see pocket A A three times in a row or pocket K K three times in a row. Secondly, you have hands always paying the big stack in a tournament so as to end tournaments quickly for more running tournaments, therefore resulting in more tournament profits. Thirdly we all know of regular graphic games like Donkey Kong and Tetris that have a level change from easy to hard. How do we know or shall I say for sure we know these poker sites are flipping switches on us on a daily basis from easy the one day, making the game look simple initially with some wins here and there and then hard for the rest of the week taking us for the hundreds and thousands they looking to get out of us,after all its is a graphic game that’s so easy to program and manipulate. Are we as humans really that stupid and gullible to hand out our hard earned money to an absolute rip off or do we just play out of bordem knowing that once our money has left our bank accounts we will never ever see it again. STAY AWAY FROM ONLINE POKER AND ONLINE CASINOS you will be doing yourself a world of good, take it from a professional poker player.

  7. I’m really amazed at how similar these stories are. I am no PRO but I hold my own in local tourneys and homegames and win more than I lose. I have tried different styles of play and find that there are a ton of DONKS online so I wouldn’t even bluff. I pretty much stayed tight aggressive and would only be all in preflop w AA or KK. I lose an average 60% of the time when I’m all in w these holdings…..What are the odds supposed to be!!! I got to where I was afraid of all in preflop so I would only call a reraise preflop so I could better control the outcome. My odds got 5% better but check this out…if I trapped and let them lead on flop and then set them all in, I lost 70% of the time. I have a couple of examples here that happened the last time I played. I had AA preflop and got called by K9 clubs. Flop came 953 rainbow. He bet I reraise all in and he catches a 9 on river to win. Now I know abou badbeats, as we all do, but what I noticed is that I would only lose when we were all in and it is always the river card. I then had my next allin w this hand. I bet from UTG preflop with KK and got two callers and BB reraised 2x pot, I then tripled his bet. The two callers folded, BB calls (now we are almost pot commited but can still get away from the hand. The flop comes 2,J,7 rainbow. He checks and I go all in. He calls. Turn 9, River 8. He shows A10 os for a straight. WTF Even a horrible player wouldnt call an all in bet on flop w no pair or real draw but this guy calls my all in. I showed mad strength preflop and flop and this guy has to know I’m on a big hand and he still calls !!!! There is no amount of odds or probabilities that a player would put in $200 on a back door straight draw when hw missed his ace on flop…Has to be from a predetermined knowledge of cards to come…I watch this happen over and over. If you calculate how many badbeats happen in 10,000 hands versus hands that hold up it is about 40-60. This is only from my hand research. Now you calculate how manty times should AA or KK preflop all in or nut flopped straight hold up. A hell of a lot more than %60 Enough said.

The first tourney i played on FTP, I won like 100 something bucks. Ever since, I get beat by crazy stuff. I was chip leader with 100 people left; I think 81 payed; put out of the tourney in three hands by quads, a running flush and a running straight. Come on now…kind of fishy if you ask me. Then you have people arguing with you about it being a bad beat, really? Since these are overseas companies, we are pissing in the wind. You want to know how to quit losing your money at online poker, quit playing. After tonight’s BS, I’m done. For the record, I have never attempted to withdraw funds, but after winning a couple of tourneys in the beginning, all down hill from there. Good luck to you all–your gonna need it!

  11. I started playing online poker 5 years ago. I only play tournaments, usually one or two a night. When I first started I had little success but over the first 12 months I started to place regularly and eventually won a tournament. Over the next 2-3 years I won over 40 tournaments (largest win of $20,000) and placed in the money over 300 times. During 2004/5 mt ‘in the money’ rate was 1 in 2.7. My winnings were $243,000 from a hobby (I have my own business) that I enjoyed. Then in 2006 things changed dramatically. I really couldn’t do a thing right on the site I’d been winning on consistently for nearly 3 years. I decided to change sites and sure enough my winning ways returned for about 6 months. Then suddenly I apparently lost any ability I once had. I scrutinised my game trying to find the weaknesses. But no matter what I couldn’t hack it. I stopped playing for some time then decided to change my approach. For some time now I have been playing low stakes (up to $200 entry)tournaments on the largest online poker site. For the larger entry mtt’s I play low entry satellites. My success is quite astonishing and I’ll give the last month as an example. I have played in 20 satellites and won entries in 12. I alsoplayed a $5 satellite to the scoop festival. I won the seat but rather than taking it I cashed it back to tournament $$ and entered some more sats. My initial $5 got me entry to 5 events and 2 main events with a total value of $1300. I played all these events without the slightest success. Alongside this I have been playing a rebuy every evening which averages between 4 and 5 thousand entrants. My success rate of reaching the prizemoney is better than 1 in 2 which usually means I have outlasted over 4000 players each tournament. But even though I have got beyond the bubble, and usually with a healthy stack of chips I have never won more than $100. I always have my stack demolished (usually in 2 or 3 hands in quick succession) when I am in a serious pot and miles in front of my opponent pre-flop and often post flop. Did I panic? No. Am I dipping for the line too soon? No. I just find myself in situations that I can’t get away from other than to sit out and be blinded out only to go in eventually with a premium hand and see it beaten. Do I think online poker is rigged in some way? Yes definitely, something changed 3 or 4 years ago with all the sites. The realisation, by the sites, that a small number of players were doing all the winning. To spread the winnings around was far more profitable for the site and kept players playing who would have lost heat and quit long before. I am not alone in this, I know players who featured in the money almost nightly who now either don’t play online or just don’t win anymore. I don’t know precisely what the changes were but the number of showdown situations has increased dramatically. Any poker tournament now resembles the highlights from television with major showdowns, miracle rivers etc happening at a phenomenol rate. Why am I still playing? Well partly because I don’t like to be beaten by anything and at low stakes it doesn’t cause me any problems financially. But also because I love poker, I just wish I had the confidence that it is legitimate……I’m afraid I don’t think it is.

  13. Same problem for me, I deposited $100 at FullTilt on April 19. Played for two weeks and ran it up to almost $800. Then in a matter of two days I lost it all. That’s when I decided to google “online poker scam” and found page after page of news articles and investigations into online poker fraud, ABCNews, MSNBC, this forum, and many more… I wish I had googled it BEFORE I wasted $100.

  14. I agree with all the comments on here…amazing that we all seem to think that the odds are not realistic and that people making bad calls continously win against highly improbable odds.

For instance, i noticed many of the same things, the weak hand sucking out on the river. I have played for a couple of years and honestly am probably down 10 to 15K….live i am up about 12 k (from my winnings in vegas as I keep track) says something to me….

Morover, through my experience online i thought that perhaps slow playing was a bad idea, ie my losses on the river constantly…so i started shoving alot harder on the flop when i had highly probablistic hands…sure enough….people would still call with nothing, needing to hit runner runner to suck out and yet they would..

something is up i agree and the only people getting rich are those that we are giving our money away to…the owners..stop playing bs online poker sites…its all garbage folks..

  15. Of course online is rigged in many ways. I have been playing at Poker Stars for over a year and anyone who says that it is legit is an idiot or is part of the scam, either representing the sites or cheating themselves. As bad as the BS software is I still think that the biggest thing to worry about are the individuals that have cracked the site. Find the post by Teddy above (Aug. 29, 2006), what he says is totally true.

  16. Smart people that have developed these sites because they know they are generally dealing with compulsive individuals – often problem gamblers. They use good psychology to keep problem gamblers coming back – bonuses, free rolls, free money and so on. And you will win on occasions but that is necessary for the psychology to work. However skill level is not a genuine factor. You find yourself up against players who play tight for hours and then all of a sudden call your $400 AA allin with 67 and get lucky. And the sites make it hard to get your money back when you do have a “lucky streak”. Have had no problems getting $100 or $200 back but have had long delays getting anything over $500 back. Money often appears back in your online poker account without explanantion as to why the cash out failed – has happened at FT, CD, Party and William Hill. And as we all know most of us will “reinvest” it.

  18. I have played online for about 2 years now, and unfortunately I didnt find this site till now and let my anger get the best of me online, stupid enough to think i was just getting beat by donkeys/unlucky.

I have tried 6 different sites and have experienced the same thing on every site. I am a winning poker player in person online i have lost ALOT of money and have finally stopped as I have realized its a scam.

here are some of the beats I have taken in the last few weeks. Again, like many others here, tend to win the small pots and get beat by bad calls (often preflop) that turn into hands and draw you in to keep betting.

    1. A 10 suited in the hole, raise 3x preflop
    2. Flop A 8 2 (unsuited)
    3. One player, bets 1/2 pot on flop, I raise all in ($100), he calls
    4. He has 8 3 unsuited (again he called preflop with this vs a 3x raise). Turn J, river 8 he wins

    Next one

    1. AA in the hole. Raise preflop 3x
    2. One player calls
    3. Flop 7, 2, J offsuit
    4. Other player bets pot, I raise over top, he calls
    5. Turn k, he bets all in , I call
    6. 6 river, he had pocket 6’s ..hits on the river

I can go on and on with these types of calls/beats but we’ve all seen them

Honestly folks, save yourself money, if you want to play poker, play for free, play vs your buddies, or go to a casino…online is a total scam and ripping us all off.

They are unregulated and getting rich on our stupidity, addicition, anger, whatever you want to call it…

There was even a documentary in canada about ub recently, and some other sites and how people who manage the sites on the ganawake reserve were cheating and ripping people off…

The whole bs about you play more hands and see more bad beats bc of it is garbage.

I play very tight and I can guarantee (as I have kept track of the big pot losses I have experienced and reviewed my play) that its rigged.

When you only lose big pots (not small ones) on a consistent basis to bad calls/beats over a long period of time this is not a statistical ‘aberation’…this is a system designed to make you lose money and reload.

Stop playing and save your money folks.

  19. Online poker is the biggest scam in history. I have been playing it since planet poker was the only one going. I’m one of the top NL players in the country, last year I finished 1st in the country with 13 POY final tables & have always murdered live cash games. I’ve spent the last 10 years studying every aspect of the game. I never have a winning session online. When your new the network, the sites allow you to win to hook you on. If its determined your a winning player, you will never win again. You will be placed on a handicap system & will win a lot less times than you should based on your equity in the pot. You will get AA every 221 hands, but the timing is where they get you. You’ll win the blinds or have a set flopped on you if you get any action. These people that run these sites are the biggest crooks & thieves in the world & they have a big bankroll & control pretty much all the media outlets that could reach new players.

  20. Just a word of advice…DO NOT PLAY BLACK JACK ON THIS SITE. And if you do just play 1 time. What they have done every time kept making me go back. you will always win the first time you play maybe $100-200 and they will let you win fast its like clockwork. Then after that you will get an unbelieveable cold streak but they will feed you enough hands to keep you interested. I went through 1 streak in progressive blackjack. I hit AAA and won $250 in my 2nd hand off the $1 bet. After that not even a single ace for about 40 hands. 90% of the time you double down on 11 and the dealer has 5 or 6 they will pull 21. The dealer also hit blackjack 6 times in 10 hands once. the amount of times that they will draw 21 on 5 or 6 cards is just so ridiculous you almost start to expect it to happen. There is NO WAY this sites Black jack is not rigged. They suck you in with a quick win and then take it all back.
