I started on partypoker. I’ll be brief because they’re obvious. I was a bad player then and took silly chances, but won 300 in 2 months playing $5 sng’s. I didn’t keep records, but I placed around 70% I’d say. Then I lost every single tournament but one until I cashed out with $100 left. And by the way, the one exception, I took third and never won at showdown. I just bluffed once per level to stay alive.
Poker Stars. Much better site. Too bad it’s rigged. I just played the play money and free rolls. After making a few million in play money, I had obsevers with the most unlikely screen names following me around asking to buy chips. But anyway, I won $1.40 in the free rolls. And then I won like crazy. It took me two months to turn that into $240 playing $5 sng’s and more specifically $1 tourneys. Myhands held up. I hit my draws. And whenever I needed a boost, I’d cathch a monster. And now and then, it wouldn’t let me fold a hand without 5 clicks. Those hands invariably hit huge on the flop.
But then I started taking 4th place in every single sng. It didn’t matter if I was short stacked or fatstacked, I never won a hand once it go down to 4 players. In scheduled tourneys, I’d either go down on bad beats, or more often never get a playable hand. (By the way, action is quicker so you see more bad beats. But you should see more good hands too, right?)
So I went to Full Tilt. After a coulpe months, I decided to give Pstars another try. What do you know. 4th place in Horse on my first game back. Maybe it’s not rigged. I’ll play a few more tourney’s. Final table my next tourney. Final two tables on my next three tourneys, and then done in by a bad beat. Just barely scratched in my next tourney. I’m back to winning about 1 pt per 20 played again. the switch is turned back off. I play a lot of horse. Four tourneys in a row I win the first hand of holdem. I win one pot after that until I’m short stcked in stud hi lo. then I push, and win once before getting busted out by an inferior hand a couple hands later. I mean, there are a lot of patterns on P Stars, I’m just giving 1 example for the sake of brevity.
Full Tilt is a little different. I didn’t start winning immediately. But once I did, I couldn’t lose if I tried. And then, just like that, nothing. I was in a $5 horse tourney once that paid sixteen. I was in 17th when someone started talking trash to me. I told them not to worry, I lost my begginner’s luck bonus a week ago and that I’d only won three pots at showdown in that tourney and two of them were splits. There was a brief pause in the deal before I went on an incredible hot streak and finished third. They wanted to disarm my comment.
Even in free rolls. I brought in 21 out of the first 50 hands in razz once. The next time I played razz, I brought in 30 out of the first 60. Come on. What are the odds. And then I’ll place in 2 or 3 in a row. Once again, what are the odds.
Here’s a few observations.
Party poker-plain crap
PStars Always one or 2 players raising the most ridiculous hands and hitting over and over and over. If you mention this, those players will sit out for a while.
Full tilt Pocket pairs, hit sets a lot, often two people will hit sets, but if not, the lower pair usually wins.
Certain cards get hot and are playable even if they’re bad hands.
Short stcks bring in often. Very very often.
All online poker, win at first then never catch a hand.
I’ve played under friends screen names and won like crazy. Came home and played under my own. It’s fold 30 hands, and lose on a bad beat.
I know two people who make money playing on line. One overplays every hand and almost never wins in live games. The other got tired of losing her beginner’s luck bonus and started cashing out every 2 months when her luck started to slip. Then she comes back from a new E-mail address with a new screen name.
I can’t talk about High stakes, but $5 and below are rigged rigged rigged.
The persons who say online poker is not rigged either have not played enough or are getting paid by the online sites, it is so obvious when the poker site change your “luck” and everyone beats you, it does not matter what card you hold you will lose every single time, I have played in different sites. It is not a matter of winning or losing is a matter of common sense, IT IS OBVIOUS >> I have played here:

In response to the last poster, a slight but important correction. I am not paid by the online sites.
I am paid by the idiotic fucks who don’t understand that the 2/4 game on the web has more good players than a game 10x the size in a casino.
I am paid by the idiotic fucks who don’t understand that their ability to beat their dumb, drunken friends does not correlate to an ability to beat people who have played more than a million hands of poker.
I am paid by the idiotic fucks who would rather claim “rigged” than admit that they don’t understand poker, and who claim that bad beats only happen online.
Most of those idiotic fucks probably dump money at the casino too, but it’s easier to replace cash in pocket than to replace cash on a site, so it’s more obvious that they suck when they play online.
Online poker games are pretty terrible these days (Good players are winning 1bb/100h in limit games, 4ptbb/100h in no-limit games), but they’re still beatable. And they always will be. Because there will always be a line of ignorant, idiotic fucks who are unwilling to admit that they suck at poker.
On this weeks first episode of Poker After Dark, Mike Matusow made a comment about how good players never win online. He was talking to Shawn Sheikan about how he and David Benyamine never win playing online poker because they are good players. This is exactly how the conversation happened:

Sheik: That’s a lot of common sense you got Mike, good players always lose right?
Mike: Good players never win online!
STRAIGHT FROM THE HORSES MOUTH, MAYBE MATUSOW ACTUALLY EXPERIENCES RIGGED ONLINE POKER LIKE THE REST OF US.
I am so glad there are players like Mike out there that will say what they feel and f*** being politically correct.
He knows online poker is BS and he tells it like it is. Instead of trying to convince us otherwise like the rest of the pros and our resident shills (pussy and dum dum), he is actually telling the truth and it is refreshing as Spring Air.
Bots rule online poker sites, check out this site and read the forum, you will be amazed. http://www.winholdem.net/ Bots are only one of many online poker scams.
Most Definate RIGGED! I’m an average poker player. I’ve been in both casinos and online. I do very well at the table but online is ridiculous. I never made anything online. The most I could get up was $200. I played the nightly grand and came in 10th which got me a fare share and brought me my debt back to par. But it got interesting when I got so close to winning a few thoudsand or $33,000 which was first. Everyone on the table was hitting but me and I ended up going all in with AA vs 10 2 unsuited. Go figure, he gets 22 10 on the flop. Who the hell plays in a such a tourney on the final two tables with such crap? Second time I made it to the final two people out of 1700 person tourney. And again I could not win more than what would put me over par. I got beat 5 hands in a row. All of which I had either a high flush or fullhouse on the flop and the other person would somehow call and pull off a 4 of a kind still needing 2 more cards. Those odds are unreal! Stay away from online poker, its not worth it. You might as well just give your money away.
1st, let me apologize for grammar or spelling mistakes, english is not my native language(writing with an online dictionary but stil).
Here leys the dilema. After two years of on and off online poker playing i’m stil not sure whether it is rigged or not. For an obvious reason live poker is a lot slower and players are much more cautious so it seems like there is much more action on the net. On the other hand one would expect to find the same laws of probability on live games as on the net. Rarely i’ve came across 3 way play when 2 players floped 3 of a kind and the 3rd floped top 2 pairs(the flop was 3 diferent cards). It is not so rare online to say the least. In fact i can remember only 1 live hand which 1 player got pocket 55 and i got pocket 66 and we both floped trip’s.
Another issue is sky rocket bankroll building and free fall bankroll losing. Like others 3 days in a row i’m an alfa male, an hour play and i’m doubling my stack and leave happy. from 10 euros to 257 in no time. and then it happens. u floped trip’s they rivered the flush, u floped king high flush and bet strong, they turned a runner A high flush. Seems rigged but come to think about it, when i started out the row i played tight and agressive from time to time. switched tables when i felt most of the players are good and were just wating for the fish as was i, gave up great hands when i thought there is a good chance i’m gonna lose this. In example, after unwillingly laying AA on the turn becuase i smelled trip’s it turned out i was right. on that 3 days i’ve managed to dodge quite a few bullets. And befor you know it i started out planning may next vacation…
assuming i know the ending i closed the book down. I got in hand with 2 8 cuase if u flop good hand with it your opponent will smell a bluff. I got in to a small stack playes all-ins with A 7 only to find out that he had AK/Q/J just cuase i had to know if it’s a bluff and hey, i’m supermen. And beside i can take losing 40 euros when my stack is 256 euros right?? wrong!!! after that u get in every hand to “erase the disgrace” or at least less carefull. I looked at my statistics and was amazed to see that on the first 3 days i was winning i got all-in pre flop only twice and when i eas losing i got all-in 10 times!!! that my freinds is called tilt i belive. Offcours, at the end of the slope i got left with nothing. At the two last all-in it was a desperate do or die. The first i won, the last i…
I find it easier to blame me cuase this is the only way to improve my game and perhaps, next time when the tilt alarm pounds on my had i’ll close the programm and go outside to play with my daughter.
One strange thing i want to share with you.
You know the hands where u know is a split pot? for instance, 3 players got a Q and the cards on the table are 6 10 J K A and no posible flush. In a cash game it would be wise to check or bet small couse the higher u bet more goes to the house. So i bet small and the next calls but the last decides to go all in. Offcours i and the next player called the stupid rase and donated a nice amount of cheepes to the dealer. In the chat box i said what i thought about this guy’s poker skills and got no answer or backing up by the other playes which was strange since it was a rather loudy table. Although i’m aware of the game theoty and the prisoner dilemma it stil looked odd.
I PLAY AT POKERSTARS LAST NIGHT AS BEFORE IM UP $3000 PLAYING NO LIMIT 2-4.WE ALL FEEL THE BAD BEAT STREAKS,I GOT OUT DRAWN WAY AHEAD AFTER THE FLOP TO RUNNER RUNNER 3 LARGE POTS,SO I PLAY ONLY 8 0F THE NEXT 390 HANDS ALL PREFLOP SITTING WITH JJ OR HIGHER GOT OUT DRAWN ON ALLLLLLLLLLL BY WEAKER HANDS TO THE TONE OF 3k
Just recently played at CD poker. I found the poker rooms the same as the other sites, lots of suck out hands, people betting with crap cards and beating legit hands, flush and straight all the time, kind of ridiculous. The worst thing was their blackjack game. I consider myself a good blackjack player and test sites all the time. This was the worst one I had ever seen. Several stretches of 9, 10, 11 losses in a row to a house hand of 20 or 21. YES, that many in a row. And just way too often 3, 8 and 10 where you get a 5, 10 and bust. it is by far the WORST rigged blackjack game I’ve ever seen. I played a stretch where the house hit 4, 21’s in a row, and nothing under 19 for 11 straight hands. Astonomical odds against that. And I’ve never had so many losses when I have actually been dealt a 21 to a house blackjack. the blackjack ratio of house to player was over 10:1. CRAZY!! Avoid it like the plague.
I for one know it’s rigged (to a point). I have no definitive proof other than analysing data from approx 10,000 hands (average). Enticement to continue betting increases the rake, although the rake is usually capped. This is obvious, and seems to make the game more ‘exciting’ for some players. The ‘random’ cards generated are anything but random, if you’ve played the same table as multiple players (baking), you will know. Each street is tailored to give most of the players a ‘show’ or chance. This entices betting, or calling, which means more in the pot, which means a bigger or full (capped) rake. Also, you will all see that certain cards fall in ‘sets’ in the street. Some cards become ‘associated’ with others, ie you can expect a high percentage of the time to see an 8 appear in the middle if an Ace is there somewhere too, or other ‘associated’ cards. This is because what people stay in on ( what they have in the hole), and who stays in, decides the turn and/or river (remembering all cards in the street are produced to keep people in til the end, because that increases the rake). These patterns are less obvious in money games because there’s a lot more folding in cash games, but are very obvious in freerolls and play chip games.
This is not to say do not play online poker, just don’t play it like you would play ‘live’ poker. Watch and learn the cycle of patterns, and by seeing what appears in the middle, you can usually guess to an extent what the other players have ( knowing that not too many people fold pre-flop with 10 J or better). We all know it’s not completely random. ( I doubt each site has one RNG device for each individual table, overlaps appear, that’s why you sometimes see identical hands or runs if playing at multiple tables). I suggest those of us who can recognise online poker for what it is, should adapt and adjust, and not play it like it was an actual live game. I have, and while I’m not a millionaire, I do make an acceptable amount. Also I NEVER clean my account out, I only withdraw just under half at a time. Poker sites are just like casinos, they realise the longer you stay there ( the longer you leave your money in), the more chance there is that you will spend it. If you continue to play a lot of raked hands, the signal that you’re ‘doing a runner’ from the game isn’t switched on. Honestly people, the fact that you are smart enough to realise online poker is not quite random, shouldn’t annoy you because now you know something that 10 million other people don’t. And that gives you an advantage. myspace.com/jessicapoker
Hell o every1, my name is KANOS. Titan poker know me as the no.1 rogue! They know i know and i know they know? Know what u ask? here is a good story…i have been on poker host for about a year..i cashed out for $1000 and havent hit nothing in the past 6 months..i opened an account for my girlfriend and enterend under her name…$3 tournment and won $500…same person playing so what did my play change or did they just try to suck my girlfrnd in….well it doesnt end there. I went with my $500 and sat at a real money table. i dont play alot of hands so i was observing this idiot raise every hand and push everyone out 70% of the time…finally i got AK of hearts…he raised i called, the flop came up 10h 9h 7s….he bet $100 i called the next card was a blank 4d he checked i checked…by his play i was puting him on a straight draw…. the next card was a 6h…wich gave me the nut flush…i check he went all in…i called he had 7h 8h so the tounament money (i) she won went right back into that site…because no idiot raises before the flop with that so just beware of poker cheat
one thing you guys keep bringing up is this random card generator….so you guys know THERE IS NO SUCH THING..look at it this way..in order for something to be random it has to happen without any help.these are PROGRAMS. you cant tell something to do something else and inturn be random…look at the freerolls..no matter how many people are in these it always last around 3 or 4 hours…they program these sites to put out MONEY cards which inturn intice people to bet…that why there is a flush straight 3 of a kind whatever on the river…this way people who hit the flop are inticed to bet your so call fish wait and knock them out. Put it this way a live tournment with 12000 peole would take 9 days to finish..poker host runs one every day at 1:00 and it always takes 4 hours
I wasn’t going to share my story, but I guess I will. It is currently around the one-year anniversary since I quit playing online poker for money. I’ve played on several sites and I believe they are all rigged. I always tried to keep an open mind about it, thinking oh maybe all the bad beats just seemed like they happen too often since online play is much faster than live. I started on partypoker, and after a while I became convinced it was rigged so I tried other sites. I briefly tried pokerstars, but left because I didn’t like the layout of it. Then I landed at Bodog. I started out making money, just like everyone else, and said “hey! I found a job that pays $50/hr.” Unfortunately that didn’t last long. I noticed that everytime I won money, soon after I would lose more. So one day, I play a few cheap cash games…raked in $33. As soon as I won that money, I left and told myself I would not play for a few days (to see if that would affect the win then lose feature). The next day I was bored and said, “okay, out of boredom I’ll just play nickel/dime cash game and I’ll play tight as a rock”. After an hour, I turned $10 into $13 something–wow that’s bad. I watch other players win money, but I couldn’t buy a decent hand. Some guy doubles up through JJ. I’m like “why don’t I ever get Jacks? It’s been an hour!” The very next hand I get JJ. No joke. I do the usual trap, call in early position, wait for a preflop raise, then push all-in. This was a VERY loose table (being nickel/dime obviously). I got two callers. They both had AJ! Flop came and an Ace right there gave them both the check mark. I was angry, but I still had like $8 left. Next hand, AA. I’m like, well I’ll just go all-in since these idiots are loose and it’ll look like I’m just tilting. Everyone folds and it’s to the big blind, who has about $5 left. He calls and turns over 79 offsuit! WTF I said! Then I thought, “wow, I bet I lose this hand” flop was 10 5 3 turn: 6 river: 8. I’m like this is unbelievable!! As if that is bad enough, the very next hand, I kid you not, KK!!!!! This time I type in the chat “I have KK, might as well call me and take my remaining $3” I get called by 78clubs and the guy rivers a flush and my $10 is gone. Three consecutive top 10 hands were beat by trash hands. The odds of those hands losing three times in a row: .8% , but that doesn’t figure the odds of getting JJ AA KK one after the other. That made me quit. And if any Bodog programmers are out there, I would advise you to fix your programming so it’s not so obvious. So now I play playmoney and retarded as that is. I’m almost tempted to open up another account, play like an idiot, make money, then just quit before they take it back.
I doubt it is rigged, but if it is, it wouldn’t be the way you stated. If it was rigged, they would keep you winning enough to keep you coming back. You all have pretty much the same story, “I won early, then NOTHING, so I quit”. Think about it! If rigged, they would keep you winning enough so you would keep coming back so they could keep taking your money. More than likely, you are mainly bad players or on a bad streak (yes, I have had streaks in both online and live games). That’s Poker!
