Online poker is for donkeys. Online poker sites make money off the rake. What better way to create more rake than to get more people involved in the hand for greater sums of money. I just observed a whole slew of hands at Titan poker. Here are the list of boards. It speaks for itself.

Online poker makes its money from the rake like any other poker room. Only they get to write their own software.
its all about the rake. they must be paying somebody to keep quiet cause anyone who is serious about poker knows there is way too many action flops. i only play free now to waste some time. i dont know how some of you still put $$$$ on there. i cant do it.
I keep meticulous records of my poker tournament play. (God help me if the IRS raided my computer). I couldn’t help but notice that 67% rate of return fell to deep negative after I withdrew money from Poker Stars. I always thought people were sore losers, but statistics don’t lie. Don’t believe, than check out sharkscope.com (you can look at 5 peoples on-line gambling names per day for free. Put in the name and site and you can look at their statistics…seems scandalous, but that’s another blog). It is shocking how many people quickly won a couple hundred dollars before falling off the chart. I don’t think its beginners luck. If anyone knows of a legitimate poker website that makes money off the buy-ins and deals random let me know. Until then it’s the casinos for me…got to love the American Indians! See you at the tables.
To start off anyone that says online poker is not rigged or the sites themselves dont cheat are simply the people being paid by the sites to do so. I call these people “cheerleaders”, and they are every where, writing above and they are the ones you play against in the poker sites and when you complain they gang up on you and say you suck.
For one i have been playing online poker since 1999 and offline since 1989. Ive played at Party Poker, Ultimate Bet, Poker Stars, Paradise Poker, VC Poker, Poker School Online and others. They are all a scam.
For 2, in real world poker where i have played in vegas, atlantic city and foxwoods i am a winning poker player. I have tracked my losses and earnings and keep stats of my progress through the years. And My wins far outweight my losses.
For 3, real professional poker players like Daniel Negranue have said online poker is a joke. They are simply being PAID by the online sites to endorse online poker and draw suckers in. They dont use their own money because they know whats going on, anyone that says they do is lying. Online poker is a joke.
For 4, Poker sites are a business, a business that is illegal in the US and is why they are all over seas. There is no governing agency regulating them period, the way they make money is through raking hands, these hands can easily be rigged to make a higher rake and make them more money.
If you dont think online poker is rigged, simply put you are a sucker and deserve to lose your money.
For 5, playing “by the book” does not work online….why? Because the poker sites rigg the software around good play and reward bad play to further increase the rake and keep bad players hanging around.
Keeping players hanging around is how they make their money, no matter how long you play for…you will eventually LOSE.
Anyone that says they consistently win at online poker is full of crap, it is impossible.
Online gambling is all fixed, the sooner you realize that the more money you will save yourself.
Its great for practice and free play but you simply cannot make signicant money playing online without losing it back, its impossible.
They are the house, their job is solely to maximize profit for themselves. To do this they advertise, pay pros to play at their sites and rigg the cards.
Anyone that begs to differ is working for them, being paid to tell lies and “cheerlead” their BS. And make you think you are a bad poker player. Dont listen to them, and dont put money in online poker. You will lose it over time, GUARANTEED.
Online poker sites are nothing more than liers, cheaters and theives.
And we all know what happens to liers, cheaters and theives.
They might be making money now, but in the end all involved will pay. So to them i hope they enjoy their money while they can, because they wont be around forever, and id like to be their when they meet their maker in the after life….because it wont be pretty and they will all BURN for being liers cheaters and theives.
So my advice is if you want to play real poker goto a B&M cardroom and develope your game. Use online for fun only.
In online poker any 2 will do and in the long run you are guranteed to lose.
Beware of the cheerleaders, they do exist, and you can spot them, and im sure you already have.
I’ve played on two different poker sites with the same pattern that occurs…I would start off winning 2/3 of the hands. After awhile when my $$ would start getting high, I would start losing more hands, until the point where I was losing 15-20 hands in a row! I think it may be programmed so that no good poker player can make too much, because many amateur players would lose too often and quit, and the population on these sites would dramatically decrease, and so would the sites’ profits. In a nutshell, I think they keep people from doing too well. As far as players scamming others, I get a little suspicious when someone stays in with a 2-7 offsuit and beats my pair of kings when a 2 and 7 appear on the turn and river…
By the way, I still think its possible to beat the odds of mal-programming if you are good enough.
wow, i’ve been reading the last 20 or so post, haven’t read them in about a month or so. you guys really hit the nail right on the hammer. it is starting to become clear to me, that we may have a problem here after all. but for some of us, online poker may be the only option, by the way i agree with deadbird, when he says online poker can still be beat. But it shouldnt have to be a constant strugle just to make a few bucks. So what can be done? What can we profecent poker players do to help the matter? Maybe we could incourage other players at the table to visit this website, even though we all hate those bots that constantlly avertize there promising bonuses. That may help shine some light on some players, so at least they can be aware. We could also email support of our beloved poker rooms the location of this website, maybe if they get enough of them they will start to pay attention to them. Who knows they may read what OPS said, and relize they would be better off hosting a fair and balaced game. Any of you guys got any better ideas? By the way JACKS SUCK!!!
I’ve heard the argument many times that on-line casinos are a license to print money, so they have no reason to cheat. Additionally I’ve heard that there isn’t a large enough profit margin for them to do so. Although I wish it were true, it is not. Simple scenario 9 players pay 100 each to a prize pool and 5 to play a 9 man tournament. The house takes $50 to provide the forum. 8 are players and 1 the house. The house has the advantage of knowing others cards and picking the river card, thus wins every time. Now instead of earning 50 they’ve earned 500 (the original 50 and prize of 450). If I recall correctly one on-line site got caught doing exactly this.
How I make money playing online? I take second a lot. I just checked my stats and have taken second in 46% of on-line tournaments entered. My percentage of 1st is 9%. If you pay attention you can identify a player getting cards that are simply too hot and too lucky. Never go all in against this player and if you’re a great player you’ll fall into 2nd. I’ve learned this through experience. I don’t know any other way to explain losing most head to head matches with a 96% odds of winning going into the river. Tracking my last 3 2nd place finishes. 1. KK vs JJ (all in) 33J flop 2. AK vs AA (all in…ouch) 3. J10 vs JQ flop JJ10 turn 6 (all in) river Q 4. This does happen with real games, but not with the frequency I’ve seen on-line. In all fairness I have taken 1st at about 1/5 the times I’ve taken 2nd.
If you don’t want to believe you’re being taken, than believe I’m terrible head to head it won’t hurt my feelings. (In live games I’ve lost head to head once on a river card in the last year…bad beats do happen)
Saying, “You can never get a fair deal if people are invovled!”

I stringly believed it is a scam! I thinks it is computer programmed to limit the wins. the schedule is like that: I put money in, a win for a day, make money, and then I lose them all, even though I have fantastic hands. the flush doesnt come out anymore, i am beaten by stulid hands like 37 preflop, etc… i am giving up. how is that possible to win 10 times in a raw, and then nothing,
absolutely nothing. and what do i do next? put some more money in? no, thanks.
I’m with you guys on this one, but was not a believer until May ’06. I went on a huge streak over the course of 2 weeks on PokerStars. Started out on the 1/2 NL tables and absolutely could not lose. It was quite silly, really. To the point that I would see the flop with donk anything (including 7 2 os) and still come out a winner. Moved up in the limits until I was playing 10/20 and ended up clearing $20K. The streak continued until I cashed out $9K.
Once that check cleared, I was sunk. After the cashout I stuck to my game plan and playing style (tight aggressive), but was getting sucked out on every hand. Flopping top set with a rainbow board and some idiot hitting runner runner flush calling my all in with nothing more than an overcard. Gutshots left and right, flopping quads only to see my opponent hit higher quads on the river…the list goes on. Even got taken down by 2 Royals to my top sets in one day (played 400 hands). You tell me the odds of that happening because my mind cannot comprehend. In 10 years of playing B&M, I have seen ONE Royal. Personally, I have never had one.
At least I came out ahead and was wise enough not to keep reloading in hopes of hitting another ‘miracle’ streak. I know some have not been so fortunate.
Thank God someone else is putting this out there… Relative good player, and placed well out of 6K people in a Sunday Million on pokerstars. Next thing you know, I can’t win anything at the table games.
See Post #20 regarding players sitting on multiple tabes up to 11 at a time. I started keeping track using the notes feature on PS. Noticed several similiar facts.
1. Everyone is not from the U.S.
2. They never chat
3. Pots won prior to my entering the table were very minimal, ex. $3/6 table takes down pots worth less than $8.00 dollars.
4. The moment any new player enters table, all blinds are raised between the players to encourage someone to jump in the hand, however, one of the players (working in unison) will fold the hand so as not to increase the chase if no “victims” posted the preflop raise.
5. There is usually one minion who will help to raise the pot up for his partner, then immediantely fold the hand, after the target has called any bets, (again partnering). Again check the “find player” option and research player to see if player is on multiple tables and the answer is always YES.
6. They never fold either, seen them call bets with 7, 9os..all the way to the river. So no logic for even being in the hand.
Okay, so thinking I’m being paranoid, I actually called with great hole cards, and played them aggressively, only to see them lose to their 6,4 os. calling hand. I wouldn’t of seen that but for PS showing the winning hand. Guy calls me over $175 on 6,4os?
So I got hustled big time, but I couldn’t put my finger on how PS would actually be involved. My thinking at first was that it was collusion at the tables amongst players, but now… how can those flops come, Q,A s vs. 6, 4 landing pefecting for this (*&%^). It’s like every card they needed constantly, magically appeared. Countless examples of my quads being beaten by a Royal Flush, my trips being beaten by a boat. Could go on and on about that. Even tried their logic, playing lower suited connectors, nothing..never worked for me. I thought perhaps they were putting me on high cards all the time, so I went low.
Also I noticed in 4 days since placing so high in the Sunday Million I have only 3X had pp, (nominal hands)77,88,1010, all which lost. I have played hundreds of hands and not once did my KA,QA, make bank for me. I took 1 nice pot from someone, however, they weren’t on multiple tables (from what I can tell on PS).
I believe they review the winners listed on big tournaments then sit like vulchers in waiting. I had a huge bulleyes on my forehead.
Tried other sites during these events, such as Doylesroom, Paradise and won/played just fine. But it’s a matter of time before they realize I can play decently and the target will be locked in.
Two other coincidences (or are they)..I tried cashing out my winnings and couldn’t for 48 hours after tourney, and PS would not let me deposit any money into my account, saying I’d reached maximum deposits for a 30 day period. Upon review and my email to them, I explained I had only deposited little over $1700 in 8 days. No explanation given to their math??? but a nice email to let me know they have increased my deposit limits.
the odds in online poker simply to not hold up. whether you are a professional, amateur, good, or bad. in the real world odds WILL hold up in a eight hour period of poker playing. there are bad beats and lucky draws but over a long period odds will consistantly provail. in the online poker world they do NOT. i went all in with pocket Qs 12 times in a three hour period. its suspicous enough that i was dealt pocket Q’s 12 times in a three hour period but i lost EVERY SINGLE TIME. the odds of winning a hand when you are dealt pocket Q’s is 4:1. i lost 12 times with pocket Q’s in one day! that is when i gave up playing online.
additionally, play in multiple tables at once and you will see that you will get the SAME hands at multiple tables at the same time. i was chatting with another player about it at the table and the same thing was happenning to him…he had AA at two tables at the same time!!! ridiculous. i also noticed that right after i started chatting about the possibility of pokerstars being rigged is when i went on the streak of 12 losing pairs of pocket Q’s until my bankroll was gone. promptly cancelled my account.
Another possibility to the high incedents of ‘Bad Beats’ and unrealistic hands is the use of cheat software. Not the kind that is available on the market, but custom written cheat software that is used by private groups. The potential of millions of dollars in winnings is enough to motivate highly talented programmers to create RNG cracking software. For example, Poker RNG 4.0 is on the market for $500 and is a piece of garbage, but the technology it works off of is real. It fails b/c you manually have to enter over 2000 hands before it becomes accurate. A talented programmer or two could easily create a bank of BOTS that play thousands of hands a day in low stakes rooms and tourneys, log the hands, and crack the RNG in a day or two. Then they have a week or so to run free reign on the site until the RNG is changed again. Whether the site software is rigged, biased, or just poorly designed, I think that the possiblility of this type of hacking is huge and one can assume it is taking place at all times. I work for a software company with some great programmers, they have assured me that they could write such a program in a matter of days. The bottom line is that if you want to play good, fair poker, don’t play online.
This is so true. Never play at party poker.com. It lets you win first especially if you play high stakes games. I won $2K in 3 days then I couldn’t go one cent above $2k for the next week and guess what I lose the $2k and more of my money.
So, its definitely a scam and I have seen a lot of guys playing multible tables non stop like 24 hours a day which is very suspicious to me. I also believe that some scammers with different usernames sit on the same table and wait for the sucker to come in. I am almost 99% sure of that. I have AA and a guy with 4,6 calls my all in, and we have equal amounts of chips (about $700) and guess what -> the flop is 446 and he gets full house and me loosing my $700 to 4 6.
How can anyone call $700 with 4 6 off suit?
Anyway, my advice, never ever play online for real $.
I started playing online poker 1 year ago, at cryptologic. Generally playing a tight aggressive game and making about $50k in 1st 6 months, playing 1/2 and a little 2/5 NL. I must have been regarded as a winning player by the firm. All of a sudden i found it pretty difficult to win consistently – fighting a constant battle to break even for 3 months. I dont feel my game has really changed a great deal. It started to cross my mind that i might have to brush the dust off my CV and get a job – sickening thought.
So, as an experiment played on my friends new account on same network, deposited $2k and turned it into $10k in 3 weeks playing same levels. The experiment went a fair way to confirm i was thinking, that new players get a slight edge.
I still think it’s possible to make good money online, but just have to be pro active moving around the networks. Stay on one account too long without moving up the levels and you`ll get shafted 😉

Let the buyer beware…

How thoughtful of them! Love any feedback!

the odds in online poker simply to not hold up. whether you are a professional, amateur, good, or bad. in the real world odds WILL hold up in a eight hour period of poker playing. there are bad beats and lucky draws but over a long period odds will consistantly provail. in the online poker world they do NOT. i went all in with pocket Qs 12 times in a three hour period. its suspicous enough that i was dealt pocket Q’s 12 times in a three hour period but i lost EVERY SINGLE TIME. the odds of winning a hand when you are dealt pocket Q’s is 4:1. i lost 12 times with pocket Q’s in one day! that is when i gave up playing online.

additionally, play in multiple tables at once and you will see that you will get the SAME hands at multiple tables at the same time. i was chatting with another player about it at the table and the same thing was happenning to him…he had AA at two tables at the same time!!! ridiculous. i also noticed that right after i started chatting about the possibility of pokerstars being rigged is when i went on the streak of 12 losing pairs of pocket Q’s until my bankroll was gone. promptly cancelled my account.

I agree with article 21 – Rush.
