In The Zone

Ah Ah, I know what you’re thinking. ‘Did he fire six shots or only five?’ Now, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I kind of lost track myself. But being as this is the .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and could blow your head clean off, you’ve got to ask yourself a question: ‘Do I feel lucky?’ Well, do ya, punk?

Dirty Harry – (Audio Clip)

Just a little while ago I had a streak like no other. I’ve never seen cards like this anywhere! If I needed a card to hit, it would show up, except for a couple of flush draws that missed. I was just killing the table and it was a blast. I couldn’t believe my own eyes, so it was no wonder everyone was calling me down. I had to leave the table after exactly 60 minutes because the fish swam out and the sharks filled in when they saw the average pot size of the table. For your reading pleasure (and my love of bragging) here are the major hands.

Yes, you saw COWBOYS go 4 for 4 and all other pocket pair go 3-5 (I left out 6c6s). Out of 63 hands I saw the flop 26 times (raised 11 of them) and won 14 times. I feel like I should quit poker right now. Never play again. At least I’ll have a record of the event with this post. Has anyone else ever had a streak like this? I sure hope it happens again!

I’ve also taken to playing the $10/1 Sit & Gos on Party Poker and after a rough start, I’m doing pretty decent. I’m skipping over the $5/1 ones because you are paying a 20% fee to the house on those compared to only 10% on the higher levels. From what I’ve seen, there isn’t any increase in skill level, so it’s just money in the pocket. So far I’ve played in 19 of them (usually two at a time) and finished in the money eight times. 4 firsts, 1 second, and 3 thirds. I’ve finished in fourth 3times too, so I need to work on my bubble play. I think my game is really improving heads up after the big tourney win and these Sit & Go tournaments. When it gets down to me and one other, I’m really feeling confident. The main reason I’ve started to play these is because next month I’m playing in a $100 home game satellite. There will be 9 11 others at various locations around the state, each giving a seat into the final where the winner will get $10,000 and the top four places will pay. I can’t wait!
