Top 10 March 2004 Searches

At the end of each month, I post a list of the top 10 keyword combinations (searches) that visitors have used in a search engine to get to my site. It’s not a popularity list, because “poker chip tricks” and every possible way to search for that would dominate my top 10. These are the funniest, weirdest, or craziest searches that have resulted in a visit to my site. The searches listed are exactly as someone typed them into a search engine.

Here’s the list for March 2004…enjoy!

  1. finger tutorial video
  2. “american wedding” pics tits
  3. unrated version of the movie playtime
  4. movie OR film OR “david OR James” “the big blind”
  5. AND “are you in the doghouse” AND contest
  6. what to eat on a fat day
  7. mountain dew steven seagal
  8. “I come in different shapes and sizes”
  9. “my size 14 feet”
  10. create my own poker chips

I’d like to know how someone plans to make their own poker chips. #7 was included because since the new Mountain Dew commercial with Steven Seagal came out I’ve had quite a few searches for it. People must think I’m running a porn site by some of the searches that result in a click to my pages. What do you think the person who searched for #1 was looking for? Hmmm….only one thing comes to my mind!

  1. I use a script called TFS Statistics that works really nice for tracking information about sites that refer to me, search engines, page hits, visitors, etc. It’s easy to setup, use, and has great support. I’ve requested several things and the developer usually gets back to me within a day with a solution to something I want the script to do in addition to it’s intended purposes.

  2. Search engines are just a portion of what the script tracks….it’s really useful to see what kind of traffic is coming to your site, where it’s coming from, what browser visitors are using, what countries they live in…

  3. I’m always amazed at how far into the search results some people go. There are terms where I’ll be on Google’s 5th or 6th page of results, and people still find me.

Now if I could just get them to stay and post comments
