I ordered a new computer today from Dell. They have a pretty sweet deal going on right now for a server. It has a free upgrade from a Celuron processor to a Pentium 4 2.26 GHz, comes with a 40 GB hard drive, and all the basics. It doesn’t come with any software, but I plan to install Linux on it, so that’s not a big deal. The only real thing it needs is a memory upgrade since it comes with a wimpy 128 MB. I should be able to pick up 512 MB for under $100. So it cost me $423 for the server, has a $100 mail in rebate, and free shipping. After purchasing the extra memory it’ll cost me about $400 for the new computer. My tax refund will be put to good use! 🙂
That’s some deal
