Dinner Invites

If you could invite any 3 people (living or dead) to dinner, who would they be?

I’m going to split my choices up into two categories.

Sports:

  1. Barry Sanders, the great running back of all-time. Anyone that can have so much talent and be so quiet about it is a special human being.
  2. Mike Krzyzewski, coach of the men’s basketball team at Duke. The guy flat out knows how to coach, motivate, and be a friend to his players. He will end up as the greatest coach ever at the college level.
  3. Lance Armstrong, cancer survivor and 5-time winner of the Tour de France. He might be one of the greatest athletes alive today, expecially after battling cancer!

Other:

  1. Nostradamus, perhaps the greatest prophet ever to live. Many of the things he predicted have come true in some part. I’d like to ask him how he did it.
  2. Bill Gates, founder of Microsoft. How could you not want to have dinner with the richest man in history?
  3. Thomas Edison, the inventor of the lightbulb. You may not know that he invented many other things including the motion picture camera, phonograph, an electrical voice recorder, sockets, switches, insulating tape, steel alkaline storage batteries, and many many others. During his life, he was awarded 1,368 different patents.

  1. Very interesting question….

    Sports:

1- Michael Jeffrey Jordan – He is, in my opinion, the greatest basketball player to ever live. He has always been one of the basketball players I have watched and cheered for no matter who he played for or how well he played.

2- Roger Maris – Probably one of the strongest baseball players I’ve ever heard about. He was under a tremendous amount of pressure when he was chasing Ruth. Has to be an exceptional person to be able to handle it all.

3- John Wooden – Before Bobby Knight, Coach K, and all the other great basketball coaches he was the man. The unbelieveable run he put together while coaching at UCLA is astonishing. I think he is the greatest basketball coach ever and it will be hard to catch him!

    OTHER:

1- Jack Ruby – He had a shady reputation, but I am a history buff and would love to know what he knew about the assassination of JFK because I believe he died knowing the total truth!

2- Robert De Niro – He is an exceptional actor and I will go out of my way to watch almost any movie he is in. Amazing list of movies he has been in – Godfather II, Casino, Deer Hunter, Taxi Driver, just to name a few.

3- Jesus Christ – I would love to ask him about a million questions relating to religion, faith, and what it was like to be him. Now with the new book out I would love to know about his relationship with Mary Magdalen.

    3. Tonya Harding

    Pop Culture…

    1. Christina Aguilera–her Stripped album speaks volumes to me

    2. Ashton Kutcher–hmmmm……lol

    3. Madonna

    Historical Figures

    1. Christopher Columbus

  4. All very interesting choices. Michael Jordan is definitely a good choice and I almost chose Tiger Woods for mine, but couldn’t pass up the three I picked for sports. The “other” category is where I really struggled. I thought aboug including Hitler too actually, but wouldn’t want to spend much time with him!
