Through The Portal

I’ve rearranged a few things on the site. The tabbed sidebar has been killed. More than one person has mentioned to me they didn’t like it and to be honest I haven’t been too fond of it for quite some time either. To keep the sidebar from getting too long, the recent comments, popular posts, and stats have been moved to the portal page. The search page wasn’t getting much use, so I threw it away. The hobbies page will likely be removed soon and the about page needs a major overhaul. Don’t mind the dust over the next week or so. Just a little Fall cleaning. Change is good.

Web Tools

I’m testing out a stat tracking site called Data Archiving Services. Simply put one line of javascript in your webpage and then log into their site to view the stats. The same company also has a site called Visual Speller which will highlight spelling mistakes in any web site.

pokerchiptricks.com

I promise I’ll be starting on the new poker chip tricks site within a week. I should be able to get started on Sunday and Monday with quite a bit. First step will be coming up with a design and porting over the current list of tricks. Any ideas for a header logo? I’m not very good with graphics, so if anyone can create something worth using, I’ll give them my Rounders DVD. After I get those things done I’ll need to come up with descriptions and videos for all of the new tricks that I have saved up.

Is Photo Matt Gone For Good?

I sure hope not. Matt introduced me to a whole new world when I stumbled across his site back in October-November. He suggested WordPress for use with my new blog and the rest is history. I’ve learned CSS, XHTML, and PHP. I’ve tried to conform to web standards as much as I can. To say the least…Matt has had a great influence on me, which has provided many hours of enjoyment.

I think the key point to remember is that Matt never said for how long he was going to take his site down. It could be forever (I doubt) or it could be just a few days.

According to Google I am the # 7 most important Matt in the world. When I reach the top of that list I’m going to take my website down.

Come back soon Matt!!
