The Detroit Tigers have sold 44% more season tickets than last year.
Transforming Monday
My roommates and I bought tickets for tomorrow’s showing of Transformers. Tomorrow as in Monday, July 2nd. Don’t ask me how they are showing it at 8 pm a day before it’s set to open, because I’m sure not complaining about it. Actually I just checked the web site and now it says 7/2/7. First […]
Detroit Tigers – 2006 World Series
After sweeping the Oakland Athletics in the ALCS the Detroit Tigers are headed to the World Series for the first time in 22 years. The Tigers are a team with 12 losing seasons in a row coming into this year and nobody gave them a chance. Jim Leyland and his “Cardiac Cats” have proved everyone wrong.
After failing to beat the Kansas City Royals once in the final three games of the regular season, and losing the Central division title, I didn’t think the Tigers had a chance. They came back from one game down to win three in a row against the Yankees and haven’t lost since.
The Detroit Tigers are going to the World Series. Detroit Tigers…World Series. Those words normally don’t go together. I’m not a big baseball fan, but I’ve attended two games already this year and next Sunday will be my third game of the year. Last night during the game, I hopped on eBay and bought 4 tickets to game 2 of the 2006 World Series. It came down to $468.50 for each ticket, but the price of seats is only going to get higher as the weekend approaches. Some people might think I’m nuts, but guess what…I’m going to the World Series to watch the Tigers!
Somebody pinch me…
Saint's Season Tickets Sell Fast
Saints set franchise record for season-ticket sales. Does this have more to do with drafting Reggie Bush using the 2nd pick of the 2006 NFL Draft or Huricane Katrina’s impact on the city?
Wings, Lions, and Pistons
My Dad, brother, and I were planning on getting some tickets for the Lions Thanksgiving game this year, so I’ve been keeping an eye on eBay. It looked like it was going to be at least $300 for 3 tickets to the game, and those aren’t even for the good seats.
Yesterday I found a dream come true. There was an auction selling 3 tickets to the Detroit Red Wings vs. Colorado Avalanche game on the 23rd, Detroit Lions vs. Atlanta Falcons game on the 24th, and Detroit Pistons vs. Washington Wizards game on the 25th. The auction had a But It Now price of only $550 with free shipping! After getting the seller to confirm that the tickets were all seated together I bought them quicker than Joey Harrington can make a dump off pass. None of the tickets are in great locations, but each of the venues have pretty good seats no matter where you sit.
Is that going to be one hell of a Thanksgiving or what? Talk about a sports dream! Seeing the Red Wings live at Joe Louis Arena is awesome, Ford Field is a great place to watch a football game, and the Pistons are always exciting. I’ll miss out on my favorite meal of the year, but it’ll be worth it.
