I just activated the new layout at Poker Chip Tricks.
It looks like the server move is complete. MDV, 2HC, and PCT are all hosted at DreamHost now. Please let me know if you notice anything behaving badly. I’m extremely happy with DreamHost so far. I’ll post more about my experience later. 2HC has a new design, which I whipped up this morning. Updates to PCT will be coming soon as well.

The logo contest at Poker Chip Tricks has ended. I’ll be working on a new design for that site. Hopefully sooner than later. The winner, Daragh Wallace, also created a new logo set that you see here at the top of 2 Hole Cards. If you don’t see a new logo, clear your cache and refresh the page. I also redesigned everything to match up with the new colors. I really like how it turned out. Again, please let me know if anything doesn’t look right.
In poker news…I haven’t been playing much lately. Just a little no-limit here and there. I’m plugging along at a nice pace and winning almost every session. If I could just learn to trust my reads more I’d be doing great. I can’t count how many times I’ve guessed the other player’s hand and still called, only to see that I was right. It’s a big leak for me.

Just finished upgrading all three of my sites to WordPress 1.5.1!

Last night I helped upgrade Hamoudy to WP 1.5 and today I upgraded Poker Chip Tricks. I had been dreading the upgrade to PCT because off the heavy customization I had done to the design, but with the new theme system in WordPress, it was a piece of cake.
Since I started using Flickr earlier this month, I’ve falling in love with tags. Using categories in WordPress has always been a burden, so made the move to rid the site of them. Using tags is much better way to classify things in my opinion. You can view a heat map or full list of the tags used here at MDV.
While looking for a plugin to do the job I found quite a few, but they were all done wrong. Just bout every tagging plugin out there for WP used the meta data to store tags. I just didn’t get it. All of the functionality is already built into WP with categories, so why not just use what is already there?
After much searching I finally found a solution. All it takes is a simple edit to post.php and one plugin file.
