Backseat

Poker will be taking a backseat for me for awhile. I just don’t care to spend as much time playing the game as I used to. When I was living alone it wasn’t a problem. It’s time to spend more time with friends and get out a little more. I’ll still try to play once or twice a week, but it hasn’t been a priority for quite a few months now and with the weather warming up I’ll be concentrating more on golf and other outdoor activities.

The blog isn’t dying, but if you’ve followed 2 Hole Cards over the last 6 months or so you probably saw this coming. Post frequency has been declining for quite some time now. Thanks for everyone’s support, but don’t count me out of the game just yet.

All In Stealing Content

The web site for All In Mag is republishing feeds of the top 200 poker blogs…without permission. I’m not linking to their site here but it’s not hard to find. Look them up and check out the Blogs section. No original content of their own. Another site called Blogs on Poker (put those 3 words […]

2 Hole Cards Turns 1

On October 2nd of last year 2 Hole Cards went live. It’s been a rough ride. I can’t count how many times I’ve thought about abandoning this poker blog, but I always remember why I started it. 2HC started as my personal poker journal. It helps me think out loud in a way. If my writing (and recently the addition of my brother) helps anyone else in their poker journey, it’s an added bonus. I don’t have any intentions of quitting poker, so this site is here to stay.

The most popular posts have been those involving discussions about online poker being rigged. Both of those posts must rank pretty high in the search engines. One of the things I hope for the future of 2HC is to have more strategy posts that provoke some worthwhile discussions.

Remember to “Fold’em more than you Hold’em.”

Steer Clear

I had to post this here in order to warn any poker sites out there that might run into this advertising site. It’s gam bling ads DOT com (remove the spaces). They run advertising auctions and the highest bidder gets the ad space. I noticed they were getting some good ad rates so I contacted them about getting me some advertising for Poker Chip Tricks because the site gets a lot of traffic. Michael contacted me asking for monthly page views and unique visitors. I informed him in my first email back that the stats provided by my host sucked and the numbers were way too high. So I offered him the numbers provided by my Google Ads and those by Poker Blogs Topsite which are both real counts of each page loaded. He didn’t trust the data.

Introducing…

Hi, my name is Isaac Momrik, I am Nick’s brother. I have been asked by my brother to write for 2holecards.com to add a little something new for the site. I will be sharing some of my personal tips along with some of my personal experiences for your entertainment. For my first blog I would just like to give a little personal information. I attend Saginaw Valley State University where I work with Nick for ITS. I am majoring in Computer Engineering and plan to transfer to Kettering University at the end of the school year. I am a regular player of Full Tilt Poker and I am looking to add a few more sites to my list. You can usually find me around the lower no-limit games and in all types of no-limit Sit n Go’s. Look for DigitalChip on FullTilt and stay tuned for future tips and updates on my poker life.

Why Keep Going?

Most of the time I wonder why I keep this poker blog running. I haven’t posted anything worthwhile in weeks and you could even debate that was worth anything. What do I really have to offer the poker community in this poker blog? To be fair, I haven’t played much poker in the last month or so. In a few days I’m off on a 4 day golf trip. Maybe I’ll come up with an answer when I come back. (Wow that was painful to go back and read, but I don’t feel like giving it any more thought right now.)
