A couple of years ago I put this cheap shoe rack in my broom closet by the door out to the garage. It was out of the way and a quick place to grab my bag and shoes when I headed to the gym.
The rack obviously didn’t fit the space, I couldn’t see the shoes, and it was hard to grab a pair if they were not on the outside. This had been bugging me for years.
Today I set out to make something simple to fit the space. Since it’s a broom closet and I didn’t care what it looked like, I used beat up plywood. Turned out great and works exactly as I had hoped.
It felt good to finally make something again!
I started wearing PUMA golf shoes in 2016 and loved them. The pair I bought last year weren’t very good though. When I was looking for a new pair for the 2019 season, I found these. With the golf course drying out, I finally wore them today. The grip was great and there were comfortable. Since I walk most of the time, shoes make a huge difference over 4 hours on my feet.
I’ve been eyeing up a pair of Allbirds for years and pulled the trigger a couple of weeks ago. They really are as comfortable as all of their advertising says.
I couldn’t tell you the last time I had a pair of shoes made to be worn without socks, which is exciting for the summer. I’m curious to see how they go through the wash too.
Whenever I see a kid racing around in Heelys I want a pair. I don’t know why I’ve never looked, but they do make them for adults! Unfortunately every size 14 is out of stock.
Sophie: “Can you put your feet together Uncle Nick?”
Me: Not sure where she was going with it, but I put my feet together.
Sophie: Looking down at my feet and sandals, “Good, you don’t have a butterfly. Sissy used to help me with my shoes but now I know how they go.”
Two years ago I tried PUMA golf shoes and loved them. I bought a similar pair last year. Here is this year’s new pair of PUMAs.
They are super comfortable walking around the house. I’m curious how good of a grip they’ll get, but imagine it should be good considering the word is in the name of the shoe model.
Each year I retire a pair of workout shoes to use for yard work. This year it’s the Pumps!
How green will they be in the fall?
When Reebok is giving an additional 30% off in addition to their end of the summer sales, I can’t help myself.
The CrossFit Speed TR has been my favorite shoe for the gym so getting a second pair for $56 was a steal. The color is called “Vitamin C” and looked a lot more orange-ish on the web site when I ordered them. The color of my photo makes them look even different; they are more of a pink/salmon in person. I’ll rock ’em, because I’m not returning them.
For only $28, the Reebok Runner was an easy selection, especially since my size was available in blue. My current running shoes are about a year old, so might be up for retirement. The sockliner in these has a memory foam, which I’m looking forward to trying.
I love buying shoes. 🙂
