It’s been 13 years since I did a winter migration to Phoenix, AZ, but now I’m out here for a vacation with my wife. Of course we had to hike Camelback, my favorite. It was an early start before 6am to beat the heat. The round trip hike took over twice as long as it used to when I was in CrossFit shape, but we had fun and made without injury! Over 1,300 feet of elevation climb over about 1.1 miles is no joke!!

The name of the pizza is the Testosterostini. It had bacon, pepperoni, ground beef, basil, and onions. I substituted mushrooms for the onions.
Hiked at Camelback Mountain today. There were a lot of people out hiking so you don’t have to worry about getting stranded here. I was excited to find out Phoenix is hosting a WordCamp a few weeks after I get into town. I just registered today and signed up to volunteer at the Genius Bar. WordCamp Phoenix is January 29th with a developer hack day on the 30th. They also have free Friday workshops and WordPress for Kids on Sunday. Should be a great event! If you live in the area and want to attend you better register soon because there aren’t many tickets left.
Should be a good opportunity to make some local friends to hang out with for the rest of my time in AZ.
