Amidst the Chaos
Hoax’s Title Track by Kevin Garrett
I noticed this one while listening to an Acoustic Chill (probably my most played type of music) playlist on iTunes. Then I checked out his album, which is a good chill listen.
🎶 San Diego 🎶
Ever since I heard this jingle it pops in my head anytime I’m thinking of the city.
I’m looking forward to sunshine and wearing shorts!

Mostly to Yourself
The Rock Show at Party on McCarty
Last night was the final Party on McCarty of the summer, with a classic rock theme. The headliner was The Rock Show and they were great!
I love that instead of buying drink tickets you buy drink tokens.
Bagpiper at Arcadia Bluffs
What an incredible weekend at Arcadia Bluffs. I’ll have more to say and show about the courses, but here is a video to give you a taste of the sunset over Lake Michigan.
Pictures and videos can’t do this place justice though. Incredible.
Christone “Kingfish” Ingram
Marvel’s Luke Cage series on Netflix has some great music, with many artists actually performing in the show. I had to pause season 2 episode 4 to look up the blues player, who is 19-year-old Christone “Kingfish” Ingram from Clarksdale, Mississippi. Here are the two songs from the show.
Unfortunately there were only four hits on iTunes and he may have only been playing the guitar in the other two. Here’s a full performance I was able to find. This guy can really play the guiter and has a cool voice.
Myself
JAY-Z & Letterman
Last night I watched JAY-Z on My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman. I can’t recall ever watching an interview with JAY-Z before this, so it surprised me when he seemed a little awkward and uncomfortable. Especially for someone who might be the best artist of our generation. He had such a different presence than I got from Dr. Dre, another hip-hop legend, in The Defiant Ones. It’s quite possible it was because of editing or the format of the show though.
I’ve been listening to JAY-Z’s music for a long time, but never knew much about him. It was good watching him talk about his life and experiences as well as some of the tough conversations our country is having.
