Seeking Regular Visitors as Volunteers

Recently I wrote about my lack of posts and Paul had a great idea. To find out some info about some of my visitors and write a post about it. So I’m taking volunteers…

Requirements:

  • You must visit this site at least once a week.
  • You must be willing to answer a list of questions I come up with.

Pretty short list. So, if you wouldn’t mind forking up some answers, leave a comment and I’ll contact you with more information when I have some questions created. Soon we’ll find out what kind of people visit and why. I know I’m curious!

Edit: And it would be nice if you post comments every now and then to qualify.

You Might Be A WordPress Junkie If…

  1. You have more than 5 folders on your web space that begin with “wp-“. (There are only 4 included in the distribution, but I have 7.)
  2. You know that a post-slug is not an insect or a shotgun shell.
  3. You know what the WordPress Wiki is and where to find something in it.
  4. You check the WP CVS at least once a day for updated files.
  5. You know at least two of the developers by their domain name.
  6. You’ve written/modified a plugin or hack for WP
  7. You don’t know any Mullenweg’s, but you know a PhotoMatt.
  8. You know that b2 isn’t just the first two characters of a popular Hip Hop group.
  9. Your site is listed under “Strut your stuff” on the WP.
  10. You’ve talked someone into trying WP.

*Inspired by all of the recent commotion at WordPress.

The Friday 5

I know it’s a little late and I missed last week, but here it is…

If you…

  1. …owned a restaurant, what kind of food would you serve?

    Chinese food.

  2. …owned a small store, what kind of merchandise would you sell?

    Video games and computer software.

  3. …wrote a book, what genre would it be?

Something philosophical, with a lot of thinking behind it.

  4. …ran a school, what would you teach?

Something to do with computers or technology.

  5. …recorded an album, what kind of music would be on it?

I’d have to say it would be something of a mix between John Mayer and Norah Jones.

The Friday 5

The Friday 5 on Friday the 13th…

  1. Are you superstitious?

    Maybe a little bit.

  2. What extremes have you heard of someone going to in the name of superstition?

I just don’t understand the whole sports thing with wearing the same socks or not shaving.

  3. What’s your favorite superstition?

It’s seven years bad luck if you break a mirror. I think this one is so stupid!

  4. Do you believe in luck? If yes, do you have a lucky number/article of clothing/ritual?

Not in the sense that someone is always lucky. Luck is nothing more than “good fortune or prosperity”. But I do have a lucky number (31) and I had a few rituals when played high school basketball. I would always have a Snickers candy bar before a game and during the playing of the National Anthem I would repeatedly count the number of stars and stripes on the flag.

  5. Do you believe in astrology? Why or why not?

I had too look up a definition to see exactly what this question is acking for: Astrology is the study of the positions and aspects of celestial bodies in the belief that they have an influence on the course of natural earthly occurrences and human affairs.

I definitely do not believe in this, because I believe we are in control of our lives.

    -Went skydiving!

  2. 2. What one thing would you like to try that your mother/friend/significant other would never approve of?

-My mom would hate for me to try bungee jumping.

  3. 3. On a scale of 1-10, what’s your risk factor? (1=never take risks, 10=it’s a lifestyle)

    -7.5

  4. 4. What’s the best thing that’s ever happened to you as a result of being bold/risky?

-When I take risks driving, I usually get where I’m going much faster.

  5. 5. … and what’s the worst?

    -Almost getting in few accidents.

These were a couple of tough questions to think about.
