One Line Movie Reviews – May 2019
I watched several movies on the Utah trip flights, so it’s a good time to review everything I’ve watched over the last month or two.
Unicorn Store
I guess it was a feel-good movie about following your dreams, but I only picked it because I had watched Captain Marvel a week or two before.
Creed II
Solid addition to the Rocky series.
Breaking In
Do not get between a mother and her children.
Bohemian Rhapsody
Never really knew much about Queen before watching this and I really loved all of the music in the movie.
Avengers: Endgame
I managed to avoid spoilers for a week while I was out-of-town and was not disappointed in how they brought everything together for this chapter of the story.
The Highwaymen
Costner and Harrelson forme a great team in this incredible story.
Iron Fist: Season 2
Finished watching the season last week. It was much better than the first season, with several big twists over the last 4 episodes. I really like the new Walker character.
Christone “Kingfish” Ingram
Marvel’s Luke Cage series on Netflix has some great music, with many artists actually performing in the show. I had to pause season 2 episode 4 to look up the blues player, who is 19-year-old Christone “Kingfish” Ingram from Clarksdale, Mississippi. Here are the two songs from the show.
Unfortunately there were only four hits on iTunes and he may have only been playing the guitar in the other two. Here’s a full performance I was able to find. This guy can really play the guiter and has a cool voice.
Black Panther
Another fun movie from Marvel. With most of the action set in Africa it had a different and refreshing feel compared to their other movies. My favorite character was played by Danai Gurira, who you may know as Michonne from The Walking Dead.
Today I’m listening to the soundtrack on repeat.
Justice & Ragnarok
Went to the Justice League last night.
I enjoyed it. It wasn’t Wonder Woman or Marvel good, but this makes 2 solid DC movies in a row.
Saw Thor: Ragnarok on opening weekend a couple of weeks ago, but never mentioned it.
It was a really fun movie. Marvel has been killing it. Which reminds me I need to watch the new Punisher series on Netflix.

I have a feeling this is going to be the best Netflix Marvel series of the bunch.
“The Defenders” Was Pretty Good
Last night I finished watching Marvel’s The Defenders on Netflix. It was a good 8 episodes bringing together the characters from the 4 individual shows. If I had to rank them I’d probably put Dare Devil and Jessica Jones at the top, then Defenders or Luke Cage, and Iron Fist at the bottom.
I’m looking forward to The Punisher series. As far as other shows on Netflix, I’ll watch Narcos season 3 next and then maybe The Keepers.
