I just realized I don’t run anti-virus software on either of my Macs.
In Mac OS X, some applications will install as a System Preferences pane. You can’t drag these to the trash like most applications. So how do you get rid of them?
Hold down the control key and click on the preference pane. This will display a menu with one option, Remove “Name of Application” Preference Pane. Click on this menu option (the only option) and the pane will be removed from System Preferences. Voila!
Is there a way to export Quicksilver settings, Triggers, and everything? I really hate going from Mac to Mac and not having the same setup for a program I can’t live without.
Leopard doesn’t barely runs on a G4 PowerBook. Talk about slow!
Looking for a quick way to lock your screen and put the display to sleep on Mac OS X using Quicksilver?
do shell script "/System/Library/CoreServices/Menu\\ Extras/User.menu/Contents/Resources/CGSession -suspend"
launch application "SleepDisplay"
I’m running Mac OS 10.5.1 on an iMac and this works great!
I’ll be attending Macworld the 2nd week of January with Dave. I’ve been helping out with Mac support at work and this will be my training for the year. I’ve wanted to check out San Fran for quite some time, so I’m excited to go. Hopefully I don’t come home as a switcher, because I hate to say it, but I love Windows.
I can’t wait to see what SF has to offer. I’m a big fan of seafood, so I want to eat around Fisherman’s Wharf a couple of times. It should be a good time all around.
On the flight home we have a 7 hour stay in Las Vegas which should give us 4-5 hours to play some poker on the strip. It’ll be my first time in Sin City, so I’m pretty excited.
