On Friday afternoon I got free by paying off the auto loan on the SUV I bought in March. It’s a monumental day in my life because now I’m debt free. My student loans were paid off a few months ago and now my auto loan is done with. Writing a big check never felt better!

I’ve had quite a ride this year with my web sites and poker. I still can’t believe how fortunate I’ve been. If you would have told me at the beginning of the year that I’d be out of debt I would have bet the farm. I paid of my 4 year auto loan in just over 7 months.

Unfortunately, money isn’t he only thing and doesn’t guarantee happiness. Now that my only bills are a cell phone and living expenses I don’t have any more excuses. It’s time to get my ass moving on the larger goals of getting a new job and moving out to California.

Debt Free-er

Each year at the beginning of July, the interest rate can change on my student loans. For the past few years that rate has dropped, but this year it reached a high point by increasing nearly 2%. When I found this out over the weekend I was pissed. I’d show them!

I scheduled a payment for over $5K that should go through today. Buh-bye student loans! My bank account is a lot lighter, but it feels damn good to get closer to being debt free. All I have left now is the auto loan on my Trailblazer. If there’s one thing I can’t stand, it’s owing money. Thanks to a good year with my web sites and playing online poker, I’ve been able to take some large chunks out of that debt.
