GolfTEC Tour Averages

A big part of lessons or a swing evaluation from GolfTEC is based on tour averages of measurements they’ve taken from over 150 players on the PGA, LPGA, and Senior PGA tours to find out what an ideal golf swing looks like. Here are the numbers the came up with for turn, tilt, and bend of the shoulders and hips at address, top of the swing, impact, and the finish position.

Pretty interesting stuff and I think the numbers speak for themselves. If you can get your swing to a point where you are consistently recreating the positions of the best players in the world, you’ll play better golf.

Things to work on: Make a shorter back swing (stop at parallel) which will prevent the club from crossing the target line at the top. Eliminate forward hand movement before the back swing starts. Less rotation on the back swing. Start swing with hands and shoulders at the same time.
