I’m rarely up early enough to see a sunrise, so I obviously prefer a good sunset.
I love that you can search for “sunrise” in Apple Photos and Google Photos. Here are some of my favorites on the water.
One of my favorite places to be is on a difficult solo hike. Just me and the mountain, with nobody to slow me down.

I took this photo in 2011 on the Echo Canyon Summit trail at Camelback Mountain in Phoenix, Arizona. It’s my favorite hike and one I did many times when I snowbirded for a few winters. The elevation change is more than 1,200 feet over 1.2 miles, so it’s a very challenging hike.
It’s around this time during the winter when I’m getting stir crazy. I’d rather be outside golfing. After the excitement of watching Tiger Woods last weekend the itch to play intensified.

As I was scrolling through my iPhone pics, it was neat to see the Live Photos come to life. With the theme being a face in the crowd this week, I was able pick a frame from one of the photos where a spotlight was directed at me. Not sure how to explain it, but this frame produced a circular pattern of light on someone’s back. Maybe it was a reflection on the camera lens?

“What do you have for desserts?” I asked in the KFC drive thru.
“We have chocolate cake and chocolate chip cookies.”
“I’ll take the chocolate cake.”
She literally meant a chocolate cake!

❤️ is not having to share your sweets on Valentine’s Day.
While scrolling through the camera roll on my phone I realized I don’t take a lot of photos near home, so playing a tour guide for this week’s challenge wasn’t easy.

While I really hate winter, living in Michigan I’ve been able to experience the 4 seasons throughout my life. These next two photos are from my yard.
