The Poker Gods Wish Me a Happy Birthday

The poker gods must know it’s my birthday. The big 25!

I played two $2/4 tables this morning and won 48 BB in 99 hands at one table and finished less than a BB ahead at the other. Not a bad way to spend an hour and a half.

My brother gave me 4 suited show glasses as a present to go along with the card protector he bought me for Christmas. The shot glasses are pretty neat. My sister bought me a few more books, namely Tournament Poker for Advanced Players and Caro’s Book of Poker Tells. With all of the new reading material I won’t have any time to play poker, but I should be making a TV final table soon. Ha ha!

Just Another Day

To me, a birthday is just another day in the year. Nothing all that special, except that you are officially a year older now. Today I’ve hit the quarter century mark (for the slow thinkers out there that means 25 years). Man, I’m getting old! At least my car insurance will go down and I can rent cars without getting raped by the extra $25/day fees. I guess the next thing I have to look forward to is a senior citizen discount.

It’s funny how we want to grow up so fast as kids, but as we get older, we want time to slow down.

Merry Christmas to all the poker players out there. We just finished opening our presents and I got a few poker related goodies. The two books I was given are Hold’Em Poker for Advanced Players and Winning Low-Limit Hold’em. My best gift of the year though is a kick ass card protector from my brother. Check out the picture below. The back is also engraved with my name. It suprisingly heavy too. They aren’t cheap, but you can buy your own.

Poker was fun last night. I had bout 30 minutes to blow before going to play basketball so I fired up Party Poker and sat down at a $2/4 bad beat jackpot table. I wasn’t getting any playable cards, but I sure was getting good at clicking the FOLD button. For the second time this week I was noticed at the table. This time is was by someone who reads and comments once in awhile. The guy lost 25 BB in about 20 minutes! Just the mere mention of me having a web site seemed to give me a table image.
