I wore this pin on my varsity jacket in high school.
No matter how hard I worked at being a better basketball player, I never wanted to think I was better than I actually was. There was always someone better and someone working harder. It was a motivational thing.
A couple of weeks ago I was looking through some stuff from my younger years and didn’t find the pin in with my medals, which had all been on my jacket at one point. I asked Mom about the pin and she found it still attached to my jacket, hanging in the basement. I couldn’t believe it. She brought it down to me last night and it’s found a new home on my gym bag.
Never stop working hard.
Don’t settle.
Love this. Kind of the opposite of positive reinforcement. But it works.
