Can anyone get Siri to save relationships correctly? It keeps saving them as spouse, assistant, or manager. Never mom, dad, sister, or brother. Setting them up in Gmail and syncing down doesn’t work either.

So I’ve been playing and confused about this also, it turned out and I hope this helps somewhat, that u need to be storing the contacts in the iCloud address book rather than what I was doing which is google.
If u look at an iCloud address entry u have tons of options for relationships which Siri can use.

Awesome! I added a contact with only my name and the relationships and it was automatically linked my contact in the Gmail address book. Now it works.

I use Google, but now I’ll try use iCloud… but I don’t want… Apple >.<
