More WP Upgrades

Last night I helped upgrade Hamoudy to WP 1.5 and today I upgraded Poker Chip Tricks. I had been dreading the upgrade to PCT because off the heavy customization I had done to the design, but with the new theme system in WordPress, it was a piece of cake.

Review: Star Wars – Clone Wars, Vol.1

Star Wars - Clone Wars, Vol. 1 (Animated)With Star Wars Episode III less than two months away, not many people are aware of this DVD, but it’s a very important piece of the story. So what is it? George Lucas wanted to bridge the gap between Episodes II and III, so he decided to team up with the Cartoon Network to produce an animated series.

Volume one of the Clone Wars is composed of 20 three minute long pieces which have been shown on the Cartoon Network TV channel. For the DVD, each part of the series was seamlessly combined into one long piece. Clone Wars has a lot of action with little diaglog, as most animated films are.

The whole idea behind the series is to explain what happened during the Clone Wars because we don’t get to see it during the real Star Wars episodes. There is battle after battle shown throughout the DVD and you even get the first underwater battle in the history of Star Wars. You get to see some of the events that push Anakin towards the dark side and Obi-Wan’s attempts to control the young Jedi Knight.

Every true Star Wars fan needs to see this DVD before going to the theater for Episode III Revenge of the Sith. Since this if Volume 1, there is no doubt there will be at least one more, but I sure hope the DVD is released before May 19th.

I give this movie an A-.

April Fool's

Why do people and/or businesses announce things on April Fool’s Day? It has to be the worst day of the year for announcments. We want to believe something, but then we remember it’s April 1st and can’t help but think, “Is this a joke?” Seriously, couldn’t an announcement of some sort wait until the next […]

No Spam

On February 14th, I upgraded MtDewVirus to WordPress 1.5 and on February 27th, I deactivated all spam prevention plugins. I was kind of curious how many comments, trackbacks, and pingbacks have been flagged as spam by my WP install, so I just took a look. It’s April 1st, but this is no joke…I have 10,000 spam comments sitting in my database. Ten thousand pieces of spam in a month and a half! Thanks to WordPress, not a single one was ever viewable by those of you reading MDV.
