Where Now?

I’ve been playing poker just about every night, but haven’t felt like writing about it. I’ve pretty much hit that point where I can play $2/4 limit hold’em on auto-pilot, so there really isn’t anything to make for good reading.

Early in the week I started to clear my bonus ($425) on UB. I was winning, but nothing spectacular. There are many more rocks playing on UB, so you have to wait for your big hands and hope someone pays you off. For a couple of days of play I cleared nearly $70 in bonus funds and made about the same amount at the tables. After a short time of playing UB last night I just couldn’t take it anymore. The software only lets you play 3 tables at once and there were only 4 tables of 10-handed $2/4 running at any given time. Not exactly what I’m used to. Add in the fact that the VP$IP of the tables are rarely over 30%, if even 25%, and it gets boring pretty quickly. I needed some action.

Thank you Party Poker! You’re always there to save me. It took awhile before I found some good tables, but once I settled in, it was like taking candy from a baby. I played for an hour or two, taking over $120 in the process. I’ve played on 4 or 5 different poker networks now and nobody can even come close to the fishy games of the Party Poker network. I like trying new sites, but I always come back.

I’ve been doing well since the fresh start. My bankroll has climbed from $300 to now over $2,550 in a month and a half. I’m pretty happy with that considering I was only playing $0.50/1 and $1/2 up until last week. If I could continue to make an extra $2,000 a month playing poker as a hobby I’d be thrilled.

I’m winning, but that’s not to say that I don’t have leaks in my game. Recently I’ve found a rather large leak that I want to write an entire post about. I’m not even sure I’d call it a leak…it’s has more to do with ________. Can’t tip you off just yet. Once I get my thoughts together on it I’ll finally try to crank out a real post instead of this shit I’ve been writing for months.

  1. If you’re playing 2/4 at UB, you need to be in the shorthanded games. That’s where the fish are. The only people who play full ring are those that understand the importance of tight play pre-flop.

The 2/4 and 3/6 shorthanded games at UB are uber-fishy.

  2. I had played them a few months ago, when tilt was getting to me and now that you mention it, they were fishy. I’ll have to try them out again and finish off all of my bonus.
