Found a site with sweet card protectors and dealer buttons. I want one with big slick and my initials (or maybe the word “FOLD”) for when I play in home games or at casinos.

What exactly is the purpose of the card protector? Why did it come about?
Other than intimidation to newer players, I can’t think of a reason to get one.

Intimidation? What? That has nothing to do with it. It’s to protect your cards! If a card hits your two hole cards and you don’t have them covered your cards are dead and you have to fold.
