Watched this movie last night on the new TV and was pretty happy with it. It was an interesting plot line with a few twists and turns along the way.
I thought Gene Hackman, John Cusack, Dustin Hoffman, and Rachel Weisz did a great job with this movie. I didn’t recognize Weisz from any other movies, but she did well in this one. She’s also a fine looking woman, which never hurts. Hackman’s character is a man who makes a living by investigating possible jurors and helping a team of lawyers select the best possible matches to get the verdict that they are looking for. Throughout the movie there is a constant struggle over who has control of the jury and will end up winning the case.
I was really surprised at how good this movie was so I’ll have to bump the rating a little bit for that fact. It gets an A- and my stamp of approval (for whatever that is worth).

Rachel Weisz was in a couple of movies I think you have seen….I saw the movie Confidence and she was in that…she also was in Enemy At the Gate, both Mummy movies (opposite Brandon Fraser) and the first movie I saw her in was Chain Reaction with Keanu Reeves.

Runaway Jury was okay. I read the book before the movie and I must say that the movie didn’t do the book justice. I felt the plot wasn’t as strong because they changed the trial from tobacco use to gun safety. The book was more credible and John Grishim is amazing. I’ve read every book he’s ever written including his latest–The Last Juror. Do yourself a favor–read Grishim’s books before watching the movies based on them. Other goodies–The Client, A Time to Kill, The Chamber, Pelican Brief, The Partner, and The Firm.
